What is lumbar disc?

Lumbar disc is also called as slipped disk and a disease that a disk located between thevertebraeto absorb shockis slipped, nerve is pressed and pain occurs. It occurs mainly in those in their 30s~40s but recently, it occurs a lot in those in their 10s~20s having bad posture or enjoying active sports.

Causes of lumbar disc

Causes of lumbar disc
- Geneticfactors
- Incorrect posture giving burden to the back
- In case of lifting a heavy object suddenly
- In case of sitting for a long time
- Sudden physical shock(Traffic accidents, hit, etc.)
- Exercise giving burden to the spine etc.

Symptoms of lumbar disc

- Aching back pain continues.
- There are numb or tingling symptoms in sacrum, thighs, legs, calves, feet(Radicular Pain)
- You feel pain when bending the waist forward or sitting
- There is pain of heavy feeling in the back.
- If severe, sensorydisability or fecesdisorder, even paralysis may be caused in lower half of the body.

Treatment of lumbar disc

Basic treatment
-> Medication, physical therapy, exercise therapy, nerve injection therapy, pain injection therapy
Non-surgicaltreatment
-> Epidural adhesiondissection, epiduralendoscopiclaser, plasmavertebral pulp decompression, high frequencydiskdecompression, spineligament strengthening prolotherapy etc.

Surgical treatment
-> MLD (Micro lumbar discectomy), UBF (Uniportal Bilateral Foraminotomy), Artificial DiscReplacement etc.
